LOŠINJ BEACH MEMORIES – CHARMS AND JEWELRY
Snails and shells collected from the beaches of Lošinj, beautifully preserved within charms, serve as lasting mementos of summers and cherished moments spent on the island.
These charms consist of metal frames available in silver, gold, or bronze hues. Inside these frames, real snails and shells from local beaches, such as Cerithium, Pisania striata, Columbella rustica, Conus mediterraneus, Monodonta turbinata, and more, are carefully encased using a two-component epoxy resin. They come in various shapes (circles, drops, diamonds, hearts, and more) and are designed with a base in light blue, dark blue or bronze colours. They can also be made without a base, resulting in a completely transparent appearance. The final products, which are functional items, include keychain charms, necklaces, and earrings.

Martina Sokolić, residing at Svetog Frane 55, 51554 Nerezine, is the owner of a home workshop registered in 2022 for the creation of souvenirs, handicrafts, and decorative items. Apart from charms and sheep plushies, various other items are crafted, including wooden and polymer clay earrings and bracelets, seashell bowls, jewellery boxes, mirrors, Christmas decorations, and more. Particularly in demand are the wedding ring holders made from real shells (scallop shells), which are also custom-made to meet the preferences of the newlyweds.
These items are crafted entirely by hand, and each charm is unique – they may resemble each other, but no two are exactly the same.
