Location: Mali Lošinj, Lošinjski muzej (Lošinj Museum) - Fritzi Gallery
Time: 18.3.-26.4.2025.
The exhibition will showcase the recent works of the artist, inspired by Mali Lošinj.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 7 PM, the Fritzi Gallery will host the opening of the solo art exhibition "Exercises in Memory" by academic painter-printmaker, graphic designer, illustrator, and puppeteer Luka Duplančić.
Luka spent part of his life, his childhood, in Mali Lošinj. His works are arranged in spatial segments, each serving as an exercise in evoking childhood memories. The exhibition recalls the island, friends, and people through the eyes of a child—experiences of play and beauty, moments of discovery. It reflects the carefree lightness of existence, unburdened by growing up, where talent, creativity, and future artistic works begin to emerge. As visitors observe the pieces, they are invited to awaken their own memories.
Luka Duplančić studied graphic design at the School of Fine Arts in Split before continuing his visual education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where he graduated as a painter-printmaker. He has an extensive background in authorial, project-based, and exhibition collaborations at the intersection of visual arts and communication design, including scenography, puppet-making, illustration, exhibition design, artistic workshops, and curating gallery programs. An active member of several cultural and artistic associations, he is also the recipient of prestigious awards and public recognitions. He currently lives in Split, working as an independent artist.
