Rules for Using Cookies

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. With the help of cookies, the website remembers your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other preferences related to display) for a long period of time, so it is not necessary to re-enter them every time you return to the website or browse the website’s pages.

How do we use cookies?

www.visitlosinj.hr as the official website of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board uses necessary, marketing and analytical cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, depending on the context or product, including:

1)       Temporary user input cookies (session-id) and/or persistent cookies limited to a few hours – we use them to store your preferences and settings on your device and to improve your user experience. For example, saving your personal preferences in cookies which allows you not to have to set preferences again and again;

2)       Authentication cookies, which are used for authentication services, for the duration of the page view – we use them to verify your authenticity. This cookie allows you to move from page to page without having to log in again on each page;

3)       User security cookies, which are used to detect abuses of authenticity, of limited duration – we use them to process information that enables us to be safe and to determine fraud and abuse;

4)       Multimedia content cookies, such as flash player cookies, for the duration of the page view;

5)       Load enable cookies, while browsing the page – we use them to remember the information you give us and we store the data in a cookie so that we can remember this data (such as the selected language);

6)       Persistent cookies to customise the user interface for the duration of the page view (or a little longer) – we use cookies to allow you to provide feedback on the website.

In addition to the mentioned cookies, we also use:

1) social network plug-in cookies intended for tracking;

2) cookies for the development and improvement of products and services (third-party advertising cookies) – we use cookies to collect data about your online activity and to recognise your interests so that we can show you ads that may be of most interest to you. You can also opt out of receiving interest-based ads from us, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We also use cookies to record, for example, how many visitors have clicked on an ad and which ads you have seen so that you are not shown the same ones repeatedly.

3) functional cookies (analytical (statistical) cookies) – we use first- and third-party cookies and other identifiers to collect usage and performance data, for example: we can use them to count unique visitors to a website or service and to develop other statistics about the performance of our websites and products or to find out how our products are performing so that we can improve them (for example, we use cookies to collect data that help distribute the load). This allows our websites to function.

In addition, we use third-party cookies to share social network plug-ins, for logged-in social network members – some of our websites include social network cookies (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok), including those that allow users logged in to a social network to share content over that network. This happens on websites that allow you to log in and register via social network accounts and if you share website content on social networks (e.g. via the “like” button). The specific impact on your privacy will vary from social network to social network and depends on the privacy settings you have chosen on those networks.

You can find out how to manage third-party cookies on their websites:

This happens regardless of whether you have a Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok user account and whether you are logged into it or not.

The MALI LOŠINJ TB cannot influence the processing of personal data carried out by third parties.
