For the fifteenth consecutive year, the captivating exhibition project "Friends of the Sea" will tour squares and promenades along the Croatian Adriatic. During the summer of 2025, the exhibition will be showcased at ten destinations across Istria and the Northern Adriatic, attracting a large number of visitors.
About the "Friends of the Sea" Project
The Rijeka-based association Livingstone and the company Astoria launched the national cultural and tourism campaign "Friends of the Sea" in 2009. The goal of the campaign is to use large-format outdoor photography exhibitions during the summer months to draw attention to the role of photography in media culture, as well as to promote social responsibility and the ongoing importance of preserving ecology and the Adriatic Sea.
2025 Exhibition – Friends of the Sea: "Rhythm of Light"
The 2025 edition of the "Friends of the Sea" exhibition features 30 large-format photographs exploring life at sea, presenting visuals as seen through the eyes of photographers who capture authentic moments in the optical interplay of light.
The aim of this exhibition is to showcase the remarkable media culture to domestic and international visitors through photography that uniquely captures life during a given period through the rhythm of light and shadow. The selected works reflect the photographers’ artistic perception of visual aesthetics.
The pieces were curated by the expert team of the Rovinj Photodays festival, with works by photographers Petar Trinajstić, Ivo Pervan, Ivan Kosić, Mario Romulić, and Dražen Stojčić.
In collaboration with local tourist boards, the exhibition will be hosted in the following locations: Pula, Rovinj, Mali Lošinj, Krk, Njivice, Omišalj, Baška, Punat, Šilo, and Malinska.
