The sailboat and dolphin souvenirs are crafted from wood of the Lošinj olive tree.
2. THE ISLAND TALE - SAILBOAT AND DOLPHIN ON A CENTURY-OLD OLIVE TREE
The olive tree is noble and often referred to as the "sacred tree." It captivates with its warm honey-yellow colour. Slowly growing and aging for over two millennia, its structure is exceptionally hard, solid, and dense. The texture is very distinctive and decorative, making it an ideal material for crafting high-quality items. Due to its hardness, it's resistant to cuts.
To obtain the desired product, the wood must be dried for at least a year. Then, it is processed (cut, sanded, and polished), and in the final stages, it is coated with olive or linseed oil. This olive root, on which the sailboat and dolphin stand, is about a hundred years old. The wood is varnished for easier maintenance.

3. DOLPHIN PENDANT
Handcrafted dolphin pendant is also made from the wood of Lošinj olive trees. To create this souvenir, the olive wood had to undergo boiling, cutting, sanding, and varnishing. The wood drying process lasted for a year to prevent cracking.
All items are made from Lošinj olive trees, aged over 100 years. They are crafted based on customer orders and preferences.
Born in Rijeka, the author lives and works on the island of Lošinj. He completed high school for metal shipbuilding in the town of Krk, and after schooling, he found employment at the Lošinj Shipyard. His life path continued with training to become a professional firefighter. He loves nature, olive farming, and everything related to woodworking.
