In the second half of 15th century descendants of the de Romeis family from Osor donated the church of St. Mary with a nearby house, some land and garden to the Franciscan brother Mate Bosniak, a refugee in the face of Turkish violence, who founded a monastery of the Third Franciscan order.
The monastery was abandoned in 1841 and is ruined today.
