SOJOURN TAX IN 2020 - you're paying only 50% of the ammount regarding COVID-19
In accordance with the Sojourn Tax Act (Article 15), the decision on the amount of the sojourn tax per person and overnight stay, the amount of the annual lump sum of the sojourn tax referred to in Article 12 of the Act and the amount of the annual lump sum of the sojourn tax referred to in Article 13(4) of the Act is adopted by the county assembly for the municipalities and towns in its area, taking into consideration the opinion of local tourist boards. For persons providing hospitality services in households – HRK 350.00 per bed (for main and extra bed).
TOURIST MEMBERSHIP FEE
The deadline for submitting the TZ Form for 2019 to the competent Tax Administration office is the end of February 2020. You can download the form on our web page or request it at the Tourist Office.
***NEW – Tourist membership fee payment in 2020 for persons providing hospitality accommodation in households – the amount of the annual lump sum of the tourist membership fee will be HRK 45.00 per bed (for extra beds, the amount is reduced by 50%); payment – single payment until 31 July of the current year or in three equal instalments, with the first instalment being due on 31 July, the second on 31 August and the third on 30 September of the current year.

This year you can once again download the lump sum payment slips for the sojourn tax from the system. At the end of the calendar year, it is necessary to print out the List of Guests, which is kept for two years.

We invite you to come to the Tourist Office of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board in order to download the material on a removable medium (USB stick, hard drive, etc.) and to sign and stamp the corresponding certificate of use (size of the photo folder: 2.67 GB).
WHO IS OBLIGED TO CONDUCT RE-CATEGORISATION AND IN WHICH CASES
Only those facilities for which a Decision granting the provision of hospitality accommodation services in a household has been issued by 1 September 2007 must be harmonised with the current Regulation on Classification and Categorisation of Facilities.
- Within two years of entry into force of the Amendments Act to the Hospitality and Catering Industry Act (99/18) -> Decision issued by 31 December 2000.
- Within three years of entry into force of the Amendments Act to the Hospitality and Catering Industry Act (99/18) -> Decision issued from 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2004.
- Within four years of entry into force of the Amendments Act to the Hospitality and Catering Industry Act (99/18) -> Decision issued after 31 December 2004.
MALI LOŠINJ TOURIST BOARD CO-FINANCES RENTERS’ MARKETING ACTIVITIES
This year, the Tourist Board will once again co-finance investments in marketing activities: photography; videos of indoor and outdoor spaces; family accommodation management software; media, print and social network advertising; promotional materials and other activities that help promote family accommodation.
RENTERS’ CARD
In cooperation with its partners, the Tourist Board continues the “Renters’ Card” project, which provides a number of benefits when shopping in the shops of Mali Lošinj and using various services offered by the project partners. Renters are required to show the shop assistant their Renters’ Card upon payment. You can find a list of shops where renters can take advantage of various benefits on our web page.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES – EDUCATION FOR RENTERS AND MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES
In cooperation with foreign language schools, the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board organises and co-finances foreign language courses for renters and their family members who actively participate in communication with guests. We invite renters and their family members to apply directly at the foreign language schools. For more information on the courses visit our web page.
LITTLE SCHOOL OF HERITAGE
Professional education on cultural, historical and natural heritage of the islands of Cres and Lošinj is intended for anyone who wants to refresh their knowledge and learn something new about the place they live and work in, especially for those who are in direct contact with tourists and understand the importance of providing additional information when communicating with guests. The Little School of Heritage will provide 20 hours of classes (from March to April) in the form of field courses and lectures that include a historical overview of the archipelago addressing maritime affairs, tourism, landscape, sacral heritage, shipbuilding, natural heritage and more. There will also be specialised 4-hour courses (from April to May). The Mali Lošinj Tourist Board will co-finance this year’s program with 50% for all interested private renters.
CULTURAL OFFER
Inform your guests about the island’s cultural heritage and the Apoxyomenos statue as well as its tourism offer.
At the unique Museum of Apoxyomenos, one of the most important underwater archaeological finds awaits you – the ancient bronze statue of the young athlete Apoxyomenos. Buy a 10-ticket (HRK 100.00) or a 20-ticket package (HRK 200.00) and gift the tickets to your guests. Children under the age of 12 (as part of a group) have free entry. When buying the tickets, present your Renters’ Card. You can buy up to 20 tickets per calendar year.
To be able to inform their guests about the island’s rich cultural heritage, the Lošinj Museum offers private renters free entry to the Lošinj Museum – Fritzi Palace with expert guidance during April (on Saturdays) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
8TH LOŠINJ RENTERS’ FORUM “INNOVATIVE PRIVATE”
The Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Town of Mali Lošinj and its partners, is organising a Forum from 1 to 3 April 2020 to present tourist novelties to the renters.
LOŠINJ FLOWER
The Town of Mali Lošinj and the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board are organizing once again the traditional Flower Fair on 4 April 2020 on the main town square, where citizens will receive flower seedlings. It is a traditional manifestation showcasing a number of flower shops and nursery gardens while the main square is turned into a large flower square.
