MALI LOŠINJ – AN EXAMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICE ONCE AGAIN

About a hundred leading sustainability experts from across the globe gathered from 8 to 10 October 2023 in Tallinn (Estonia) to participate in the 9th Green Destinations Conference! 
Among the 165 applications received this year, Lošinj was once again recognised for its Sustainable Story, i.e. its Sustainable – Good Practice Story, thanks to which it made the list of sustainable destinations this year as well!

For the first time on Lošinj – communication with medical practitioners via the Mediion platform

Mali Lošinj Tourist Board and Mediion technologies d.o.o. have presented an innovative solution to connect patients and medical practitioners.

The MEDIION platform enables medical practitioners to use a personalised approach, fast, simple and protected communication, and a safe and efficient way of providing health care services focused on each patient’s individual needs. The system increases availability of primary and secondary health care to locals and visitors.

Eco-campaign “The Sea Knows, the Island Remembers” on Lošinj

On the first weekend in April, a large two-day eco-campaign “The Sea Knows, the Island Remembers” was held at several locations on the island of Lošinj, during which a total of 430 divers, volunteers and citizens joined forces to remove more than 40 m3 of waste from the Lošinj seabed and shores.

MALI LOŠINJ AMONG TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE DESTINATIONS OF THE WORLD

At the eighth edition of the international conference Global Green Destinations Days, which brings together leading sustainability experts in government, business and academic circles in Athens on 27 September 2022, Lošinj was awarded a silver award - Green Destinations Silver Status for successful sustainable management in accordance with international standards defined by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

Mali Lošinj Selected among the World’s Top 100 Sustainable Destinations!

The global conference dedicated to sustainable destination management and the Sustainable Destinations Top 100 award ceremony have been held for the sixth year in a row, this year organizers opting for the first time for an online edition of the events. Mali Lošinj has once again been selected among the top-class destinations of the world, and this year it participated in two categories – Best of Culture and Communities and Best of Nature and Ecotourism.
