MALI LOŠINJ AMONG TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE DESTINATIONS OF THE WORLD

At the eighth edition of the international conference Global Green Destinations Days, which brings together leading sustainability experts in government, business and academic circles in Athens on 27 September 2022, Lošinj was awarded a silver award - Green Destinations Silver Status for successful sustainable management in accordance with international standards defined by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

Mali Lošinj Selected among the World’s Top 100 Sustainable Destinations!

The global conference dedicated to sustainable destination management and the Sustainable Destinations Top 100 award ceremony have been held for the sixth year in a row, this year organizers opting for the first time for an online edition of the events. Mali Lošinj has once again been selected among the top-class destinations of the world, and this year it participated in two categories – Best of Culture and Communities and Best of Nature and Ecotourism.

 

News and obligations for renters

Thank you for the effort and hard work you put into improving the quality of the tourism offer in our destination. Out of a total of 2,363,467 overnight stays on the island of Lošinj in 2019, as much as 18.2% was realised in private accommodation. Considering the significant share of private accommodation in the total number of overnight stays, through joint activities we contribute to enhancing the quality of the tourism offer on the island of Lošinj.

Croatia will host the Global Green Destinations Days 2019, on October 8-12. The City of Dubrovnik, well known for its recent overtourism issues, will present its new strategy and its solutions.

Lošinj won the title of European Island of Sport for 2020!

After the Evaluation Committee of ACES Europe (Gian Franco Lupatelli, President, Hugo Alonso, Secretary, Bilyana Mircheva, Lukaš Vorel Adams and Danilo Montanari) stayed on the island of Lošinj from May 28 to 30, 2019, when during World Sports Day the entire sporting offer of the island and all sports clubs and associations was presented, Mali Lošinj has officially been given the title of the European Island of Sport for 2020.
