In addition to the charming Christmas stalls in the Mali Lošinj Town Square, the Town Administration and the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board prepared daily cultural and entertainment events intended for all generations in cooperation with their many partners. The events you can enjoy during this year’s Christmas Market in Lošinj include the decoration of Christmas trees, even those under water, entertainment for children, as well as music, drama, recital, dance, and entertainment programmes, charity events, soccer tournaments, and theatre performances.
*During this year’s Christmas and New Year programme in the Mali Lošinj Square, sports and soccer fans can watch the live broadcast of the World Cup matches.
Achieving humanitarian objectives with the message “Peace, Kindness, and Love”
The Lošinj Christmas Market is unique with its humanitarian objectives and events. Many local organisations and clubs joined forces this year to achieve them. Associations such as Naša djeca (Our Children), Ruka u ruci (Hand in Hand), the Lošinj Futsal Club, the Lošinj Bikers Club, the Relive Association, and the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs will set aside the profit they have during this year’s Christmas and New Year programme for humanitarian purposes aimed at benefitting the community (equipping a sensory room for children with special needs, installing handrails and a scale for children, funding the Veloselsko srce Association, and helping fellow citizens in need.
The “Lošinj Christmas Market” programme was first organised 12 years ago by the Naša djeca (Our Children) Association in Mali Lošinj, and its goal was to gather fellow citizens and collect funds to help the community with an appropriate programme and in pleasant company. Items made and decorated with chosen motifs are exhibited and auctioned, and all the profits are given to humanitarian purposes. This year, the auction with the theme “Peace, Kindness, and Love” will be held on 22 December 2022 in the Mali Lošinj Square.
Student evening – Jole and the Bolero band
In addition to the daily entertainment programme, famous Croatian performer Jole and the Bolero band will entertain Lošinj residents and guests on 27 December 2022.
New Year’s swim
Thanks to the pleasant climate and temperatures, many feel brave enough to take part in the traditional New Year’s swim on 30 December. Brave swimmers can look forward to drinking Lošinj tea, toasting with champagne, and wrapping themselves in warm robes while having fun under the watchful eye of a camera.
Morning fun
But that’s not all! As part of morning fun in the Mali Lošinj Square, a toast will be made with champagne to say goodbye to the year that’s coming to a close. Accordions, champagne, the mayor’s toast, and good company are more than enough reason to head to the main Mali Lošinj Square on 31 December.
New Year celebration – Neno Belan and Fiumensi
The best way to celebrate New Year is all together! With that in mind, we organised a celebration in the Republic Square in Mali Lošinj, where Neno Belan and Fiumensi will be in charge of entertainment.
Winter offer
If you are a fan of winter camping, the Čikat campsite in Mali Lošinj is also holding a New Year celebration. Spend New Year’s Eve in the company of other camping enthusiasts, enjoying a rich menu and live music.
Our Christmas story will also come to Veli Lošinj. Christmas fun, a special stall with live music, and the Christmas fairy tale – reading stories and giving gifts to children, are just some of the activities that Veli Lošinj has in store for you.
The Alhambra Boutique Hotel (5*) and the Punta Vitality Hotel (4*) will keep their doors open for the upcoming holidays, and if you decide to welcome 2023 indoors, consider the restaurants Veli žal and Silver Bay, and their great entertainment.
