For the first time on Lošinj – communication with medical practitioners via the Mediion platform

Mali Lošinj Tourist Board and Mediion technologies d.o.o. have presented an innovative solution to connect patients and medical practitioners.

The MEDIION platform enables medical practitioners to use a personalised approach, fast, simple and protected communication, and a safe and efficient way of providing health care services focused on each patient’s individual needs. The system increases availability of primary and secondary health care to locals and visitors.

Medical practitioners on the platform are available for written consultation, teleconsultation and office appointments. Mediion is available as iOS and Android app and also on the mediion.com web portal. The platform is available in five languages – Croatian, Slovenian, English, German and Italian – making it more accessible to island visitors.

Research has shown that on an average a medical appointment lasts 3 hours, and 70% of medical appointments do not require a face-to-face visit, but only a remote medical consultation that can be carried out over the Mediion platform. If a face-to-face visit is required, any visitor can schedule an appointment with an available Mali Lošinj doctor. The platform offers quick and easy access to information about the locations of their medical practices, making setting up an appointment easier.

The initiative aims to increase visitor satisfaction and extend their stay on Lošinj, reduce wait times for medical appointments in high temperatures and maximize time efficiency for patients and doctors.
The Mediion platform is a carefully developed, affordable, easier, faster, safer and more efficient way to access the best doctors and improve human health.

We are pleased to announce we are now able to provide our visitors telemedicine services using the app that enables access to health care providers without the need for an in-person office visit. There are currently four Lošinj doctors and over 30 doctors from Croatia available digitally. We are aware of the shortage of health care professionals, especially in high season. Telemedicine allows us to improve access to health care and medical services for our visitors,” added Mali Lošinj Tourist Board Director Dalibor Cvitković.
